Pallid Bat

(Antrozous pallidus)

This bat has a range from central Mexico to western Canada. The only species of its genus, the Pallid bat has larger eyes than most North American bats. They have long, wide, pale ears, and light brown or grey fur. They prefer semi-arid environments, and make their nests in buildings and rock crevices. As gleaners, they normally forage on the ground for their food.
