Nuttall's Lotus

(Lotus nuttallianus)

This annual herb is native to Baja California and San Diego County. A species of legume, it has an inflorescence of little red and yellow flowers, which yields a thin, curved pod bearing two seeds. It resides in coastal and beach bluff habitats.
