Chamise

Adenostoma fasciculatum is native to California south to Baja. This flowering shrub is one of the most distributed plants in the chaparral community. Chamise can reach heights of up to 12 feet, with stick-like branches and highly flammable evergreen leaves. Highly adaptable, the plant can tolerate drought and will grow in barren, nutrient-poor, and serpentine soil as well as rocky outcrops.
