Brown-headed Cowbird

This small bird winters in Mexico and the southern US. They have a finch-like beak and head. Dimorphic, the males are shiny black with a brown head; the females are dull gray with a light throat. The prefer semi-open or open country for foraging and breeding. They have parasitic nesting tendencies, laying its eggs in other passerine nests.
