Bald Eagle

(Haliaeetus leucopcephalus)

This bird of prey is found throughout North America, with a range extending from northern Mexico to Alaska. The bird can be found near large open bodies of water, hosting a formidable food supply (mainly fish) and surrounding trees for nesting. Adults are brown with a characteristic white head and tail, with a large hooked beak.
