Arroyo Willow

Salix lasiolepis is a willow native to southwestern North America with a range as far north as central Washington. This deciduous shrub can grow up to 33 feet tall, with hairy yellow-brown shoots and broad green leaves which turn whitish in the winter. The bloom consists of a yellow catkin (tubular inflorescence made up of many small flowers). Arroyo Willows can be found in canyons, swamps and along pond shores.
